In a Chocolate kinda Mood...

Yep... the chocolate fridge compartment is the last refuge of the single gal... or the girl whose family just flew all the way back to Blighty...! :(
My mum and brother visited for 10 days and flew back last night so naturally my mood has called for chain tea-drinking and a lot of chocolate.

And speaking of... I've lowered the price of my Heart shaped boxes of Chocolates here as I'd rather clear the stock and make room for other things. (I made them Valentines 2011 after all).

A Romantic Treasury to share!

Hi everyone,
I made a pretty Valentine's treasury on Etsy (for those that don't know what this is... it's a collection of theme-related handmade items on the best online marketplace for handmade and vintage sellers)! It's the first treasury I've ever made. I included some sellers I absolutely love, such as Garden of Whimsy, Burlap and Blue and Pure Fusion Make-up and I also included two of my Valentine's items :)

Box of Heart Cookies

These are tiny little box tins of Valentine Cookies in various shapes and sizes and decorated with red and pink icing and sprinkles! The box itself is only 2cm x 2 cm.

Battenberg Cake - made with love!

No cake is more British than a frivolous Battenberg cake at any afternoon tea! Well I've made one that's a bit special as I've handmade it with Valentine's Day in mind. It's pink and chocolate cake, decorated with a row of tiny candy hearts. Only 1.4 cm in length so a pretty dainty and detailed cake which I am really pleased with. You can find it here

I HEART this packaging!

I went into Micheal's Arts and Crafts' (brilliant craft shop in America) and found these fabulous heart shaped boxes which I'm now using to package the items I sell of my Valentine's 2011 Range! Aren't they cute? And they're pretty sturdy too.

Valentine's Day Cake

I've made a special edition Valentine's Day cake, which is moist-looking layered chocolate and pink cake with pink frosting, sprinkles and candy hearts and rosebud on a little white doily. Handmade in 1:12 (one inch) scale!

Valentine Eclairs

With Valentine's Day on the way this is a detailed tray of romantic Valentine's eclairs in adorable 1:12 (one inch) scale!

I've put three eclairs with icing in shades of pink and white and decorated with a candy heart, chocolate confetti and a silver sprinkle on little patisserie trays like the ones you get at a patisserie in France.

As part of my Valentine's Range 2011 it seemed only right that I include some classic Valentine's chocolates in a heart shaped box. There's such a buzz about Valentine's day in the supermarkets here in LA right now... a seriously huge range of Valentine's Day chocolates in gorgeous red and pink heart-shaped boxes. I love it! Well these are luxury Belgian chocolates in a variety of shapes - dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate and gold foil wrapped.

Violets and Valentines!

Have you ever seen the violet religieuse at Laduree? So pretty! I've made some in 1:12 (one inch) scale and they're ever so detailed and realistic.

Pistachio Religieuse - pretty green French pastries!

I just adore the pretty pistachio religieuse (in French known as Religieuse Pistache) at Laduree. They have pale green icing and look spectacular amidst all the more usual pink cakes.

Re-created in tiny 1:12 (one inch) scale, my little dollhouse miniature pistachio religieuse are fairly detailed.

Romance is in the air...

With Valentine's Day looming I've been inspired by exquisite patisseries like Laduree to make really fine pink pastries. Here's my first product in my Valentine's Range 2011 - it's a Pink Religieuse (popular sweet cream filled French pastry) and I referenced a real religieuse from Laduree to make it as realistic as possible. A lot of time and care has gone into these very tiny detailed pastries I can tell you!
