Starting to create my furniture range for Hummingbird Miniatures.... here's a piece I did today. I actually didn't
make this one - it's a kitchen counter that came heavily varnished with these adorable little white storage trays. I sanded it down to the bare wood, painted it and created a faux marble counter top.
Here's a 'before' photo.
Much more furniture to come and a good deal of it made from scratch... ;)
Don't forget to enter my
mini food jewelry competition which is currently happening on my Facebook page (ends on Sunday).
And keep an eye on my
Hummingbird Miniatures online shop for new bread and pastries which will be made available soon.
It's wonderful! I like the colors.

Hi Caroline, since you have very good experience with polymer clay im wondering if you can help me. I was baking polymer clay inside a roasting bag in my oven, then the bag touched the side of the oven and melted smoke started coming out and there was a bad smell that is leftover now. I dont know what to do my mom wants me to make roast today but im afraid please help!
ReplyDeleteLovely kitchen counter by the way :)
Hi Anna, Don't worry - you can still use the oven to cook a roast - just go ahead. There's nothing exceptionally dangerous about the fumes which come from polymer clay, even though it smells unpleasant. Sharing the oven for polymer clay and food here and there isn't the end of the world. However, if you use polymer clay a lot (more than once a week) then I would strongly suggest buying a craft oven for all your polymer clay baking. You can find them easily at craft shops and even homeware shops and they're not expensive. Hope that helped. Warm regards, Caroline
DeleteThank you soo much Caroline this really helped, i was really worried but now im okay and i cooked the roast :)
DeleteMuch thanks
Anna
Hi Anna, Glad that helped! I'm impressed you made a roast - never done that successfully myself... I'll have to come to you for cooking tips! :) Caroline
