Pain au Chocolat

I went to my favourite cafe in Los Angeles the other day - 'The Alcove', and saw they had some lovely looking 'Pain au Chocolat' in the glass display counter, so I asked the staff for one, using the name I've always called them by in the UK. She looked a bit baffled and I quickly discovered they're simply called 'chocolate croissants' in the US. Reminded me of the time I went into that same place about a year ago and asked for the 'fairy cake with smarties on it'. The staff thought it was so funny... if I'd been American I'd have known to ask for the 'cupcake with candy on it'!
Anyway, it also reminded me to post photos of my scale miniature pain au chocolat / chocolate croissants for you to see. :) They'll be available on my shop before long (and as usual feel free to message me and put in a request for anything you see on this blog and can't find at my store).

Chocolate Croissants

About to head into work, but since I got some lovely feedback about my continental breakfast yesterday I thought I'd share some better photos first...
Here are some 1:12 (one inch) scale dollhouse miniature chocolate croissants fresh from the Hummingbird Miniatures oven!

I'm going to arrange some on tea trays and plates to sell on my shop soon.

Breakfast at mine? A sneak peak into my workspace

Happy Sunday everyone!
Even though I started my day with a good old fry-up (full English Breakfast) of eggs, bacon, tomato, mushrooms etc... I am sharing a few photos of a continental breakfast by request.

For my friends who like seeing un-posed, un-staged photos of my miniatures over at my Pixie Dust Miniatures blog (here), and have asked why I don't share them on this blog... here you are! I'll continue doing more sporadically in the future.

Stay tuned for a competition coming very soon to Hummingbird Miniatures - you could be in with a chance to win a dollhouse miniature cake - free of charge. :)
