Preparing for Easter...

A couple of years ago I came up with fluffy plush toy chicks in one inch scale miniature, as well as plush toy Easter bunnies. They were pretty popular so this year, even though I didn't have much time to create a new Easter Range as such, I have made many many more Easter chicks! Take a look at my 'work in progress' photo below.

Here are some of my Easter items which are also available this year. There are a few Easter bunnies left and only ONE Easter cake left. After that this cake design will be discontinued.

New Bread Range Listed!

It was ages ago that I blogged about my new bread range ('in the making'), and finally I've had time to photograph it, write about it here and make it all available at my online Etsy shop here!

So, take a look at my handmade one inch scale (1:12) breads... from ciabatta, two kinds of baguettes, sourdough loaves and mini rolls, pumpernickel, olive bread and more...

Pastries, pastries, pastries!

If you check my online Hummingbird Miniatures Etsy shop you'll notice that this morning 9 different kinds of pastries have been added to the Bakery Section.

Everything has been handmade by myself without the use of molds, and in tiny 1:12 (one inch scale) with great care to realism and detail. Each one took me a long time to make!

Do you remember when I blogged about tiny detailed miniature pastries (here) and a new line of bread I'd made (here)...? Well it was about a year ago - so you probably don't remember!

Fashion Bites

Happy New Year everyone!!! First of all, a big thank you to all of you that follow this blog and/or like my Hummingbird Miniatures Facebook page. It's great to have your interest and support!

What a fun year 2013 was. I left New Zealand and moved back to America, expanded my business further, was featured in several more magazines including a few more magazine covers, attained my Greencard (which means I have permanent residency in the US), flew back to my home country of England twice, and traveled to the Canary Isles. I so look forward to many more great things this year. Thank you for sharing the miniature journey with me!

I just wanted to share a fun US magazine article I was featured in last year (I just recently received my copy of it) - which focuses on my miniature jewelry. You may already know that at my online Hummingbird Miniatures Etsy shop I sell my miniature food jewelry, and at my other shop I sell my miniature fairytale variety. Both brands are showcased. What's in store for 2014?
FILM  This year I will be spending a good deal of time working on the film 'Myrtle the Witch' (a short film which is shot entirely on miniature scale sets and using hand-sculpted miniature characters) - find out more about this and stay connected at the Tall Tales Productions Facebook page here. 

BOOK   I also have a book coming out (my very first miniature book) and you can find out about that here. This book focuses solely on my other brand - of fairytale and fantasy miniatures, not Hummingbird Miniatures (miniature food).
